Board the Deccan Odyssey
Assemble at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in the evening to complete the registration process and other formalities for the journey around Maharashtra. You will be given an exotic welcome drink as well. After completion of the formalities, board the Deccan Odyssey from Mumbai and head to Nashik.

Upon arrival at the beautiful city of Nashik, alight from the train and walk along the Godavari Ghat where Hindu rituals are performed on a regular basis. Also, visit the local market near the ghats where you can buy anything ranging from groceries to seafood to other household necessities. Later, proceed to the Grover Zampa vineyards and experience an exclusive tour of the Indian wine making facility. Have a look at the vines laden with Chenin, Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes, and also witness the age-old 'methode traditionnelle' used to make exotic wines. Enjoy a wine tasting session and get back to Deccan Odyssey to set forth for Aurangabad.

Aurangabad - Ellora Caves
Named after the Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb, the city of Aurangabad is famous for the Ajanta and Ellora caves and is also known as the "City of Gates". This historical city is a tourism capital of Maharashtra and house various monuments and tourist attractions including Bibi Ka Maqbara, Daulatabad Fort, Gateways, and much more. After relishing a scrumptious breakfast, go on a scenic drive to Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is one of the largest rock-cut monastery-temple caves complexes in the world. There are 34 cave temples belonging to Buddhism, Jainism, and Hinduism. One of the most striking temples is the Kailash Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Have a grand lunch in the train. In the evening, enjoy exquisite cocktails and a sumptuous dinner as the Deccan Odyssey heads to Jalgaon to visit the Ajanta Caves. Overnight stay at the Deccan Odyssey.
Upon arrival at Jalgaon Station, the tourists alight from the train and proceed for an excursion to Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which includes 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments dating from 2nd century BCE to about 480 or 650 CE. The caves comprise of ancient monasteries and worship halls with beautiful paintings and rock-cut sculptures. Lunch will be served in the train as it heads to Kohlapur. Enjoy a leisure time in the train as it rolls into the city of Kolhapur, the historical capital of Maharashtra. Have an early lunch on board and alight to visit the prominent places of tourist interest in the city. Visit the New Palace Museum (a sandstone octagonal palace) and the Town Hall Museum (a neo-Gothic building). Explore the local shopping centres and markets and get amazing Kohlapuri chappals before you head to witness the Lavanya Sandhya, a traditional folk performance. Later, proceed to visit the Mahalakshmi temple (a 1300-year-old temple also known as the Shakti Pethas) and later witness the 'Mardani Khel', a traditional martial arts performance.
Return to the Deccan Odyssey and proceed to the most fun-filled tourist destination in India - Goa. Overnight stay in the train.
After arrival at Goa, drive to Fontainhas, the Latin Quarters in Panjim which still has copious houses built in Portuguese style architecture. Experience the UNESCO World Heritage Walk around Fontainhas with its winding alleyways adorned by tiled-roofed houses in spectacular shades of blue and red. Later, proceed to Ribandar and walk along the lanes to visit the quaint churches and the St. Augustine tower. Proceed to Sahakari spice plantation for a traditional Goan feast comprising of shrimps, kingfish and mackerel washed down with some 'feni', a potent liquor made from cashew. Post lunch, enjoy a Goan folk performance. In the evening, visit another Portuguese house before returning to the Deccan Odyssey which further continues the journey to Ratnagiri via Konkan railway line. Overnight stay at Deccan Odyssey.
Upon arrival at Ratnagiri, a port city on the Konkan coast, the tourists alight from the train and explore the beauty that the city offers. After breakfast, head to the Ganpatiphule temple, where the 400-year-old idol of Ganapati is said to have sprung from the soil. Proceed to the beach and have a refreshing time. Return to the Deccan Odessey for a grand lunch and later proceed to the mango and cashew plantation and interact with the working labourers. After visiting the plantation, walk through the town and explore the 'wadas' or the local Maharashtrian neighborhood.
